Reunion Time

Hellos,

Can people who are planning to be in Taiwan this summer list approximate dates they plan to be there? I'm going to try my very hardest to go across the strait and visit <3

Mega-Procrastination

You won't believe what I did on Friday...

I was so sick and tired of studying for exams (37 more days!) and I was already slightly disappointed I couldn't go to Oslo thanks to Eyjafjallajokull (hope I spelled that right), so I just bought myself flight tickets. And then left for the airport 3 hours later.

I arrived in Oslo at 9am on Saturday, and just explored the city (on foot, of course): fell asleep on a Fjord-cruise, counted the stars from the rooftop of the Operahouse with some German boys, stood in front of Edvard Munch's The Scream for half an hour.

In short, I spent the entire weekend procrastinating and came back to Cambridge early Monday morning.

It was the best way to procrastinate. Ever. I highly recommend it.

thank you guys...

thank you guys for dealing with me and listening to me earlier...

i'm still shivering from the news... his face keeps coming back and i don't seem to be able to focus on anything and i can't get myself to fall asleep. like so many memories keep coming back and the more i talk to the other yalies about him, the better i feel and at the same time, the sicker i feel inside.

i think it's also because when i used to work at the empire state building, i always used that entrance right next to where his body apparently fell... and in that regard, im just so thankful and glad - although i know this sounds selfish and heartless to some extent - that im not in new york right now.

i have so many random memories with him, of just walking around the main station trying to figure out where wanna eat, introducing him to the wonders of mangguobing, lighting incense sticks at random temples, and then praying for all our wishes to come true.

he was always so keen on trying out new things, practicing chinese, and was just so genuinely friendly and happy.

if im this shocked and affected, i can't even begin to imagine what his classmates and family must be going through right now....

i wonder when he started planning this all out and what was going through his head that day during class, on his way to the train station, on the train to new york, on the lift up to the observatory, etc. etc. etc... whatever it was that was troubling him so much, i hope he's rid of all that now.

one of my last days in taiwan, when i saw him for the last time, we went through our pics together and realized we didnt have a single picture where both of us are smiling / look decent. and then we said 'ah well.. guess that just means we'll have to meet up at some point in the future and take a cool picture together where ever that may be.'

the realization that that'll never happen makes me shiver.

Happy New Year

I suddenly had a I miss Taiwan and friends moment. Coming here helped it out a bit.

Maybe if I click my heels three times, I'll be where I want to be...

things i should not have done this weekend that don't involve alcohol and boys

1) watched "derailed." i <3 clive owen but damn. that movie made me go check the locks on my door and think about getting mace and joining a convent.

2) watched the "all for aniston" movie marathon on lifetime on new years day. even though i had just got home and wanted to stay awake so that i could fix my jetlag faster, it was pretty pointless (with the exception of "the good girl"). i don't even like jen aniston...what a time waste.

3) watched season 6 of america's next top model. i've seen it so, so, so many times but yet i sat and watched the entire effing marathon again...mostly b/c of jade. she's so cwaaazy! i just can't stop watching. but still...time suck considering the fact that yes, i have work to do...

4) decided that the trip planner for seattle buses had it wrong. but alas, the system can't be beat. the city does know what the hell it's doing sometimes and when the site says a route is not running, it really, truly is not running...needless to say, i ended up stranded at this kinda weird part of town. to give you an idea, i was near a jiffy lube, 76 gas station, a 99 cent store, a payday loan, and a guy who had his friends over and blinds up to gape at me while i waited for the bus to come on a sunday afternoon.

5) watched "the return of the king"--it makes me feel like a nerd even though i do love those movies. there i said it.

6) put too much toothpaste on my toothbrush just now. i was foaming at the mouth while i was brushing but boy do my teeth feel clean!

7) writing this post. no one cares but yet i still write... i guess i like playing the underappreciated artiste who suffers for their art.

thusly, i am not getting 8 hrs of sleep before the quarter starts...
